Dervon Thompson has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and industries. Dervon began their career as a Contributing Writer for The Voice Magazine in 2017. In 2018, they worked as a Remote Writing Intern for 12UP Sports and also served as the Social Media Chair for the Michigan State Chapter of National Association of Black Journalists. From 2018 to 2020, Thompson worked as a Writer for Spartan Newsroom and later joined Amrock as a Copywriting Intern. In 2019, they worked as a Caddy at the Detroit Golf Club. In 2020, Thompson took on the role of Secretary for the Michigan State Chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists. Dervon also worked as a Reporter/Writer for WKAR Current Sports during that time. Since 2020, Thompson has been with Ignite Social Media, starting as an Associate Community Manager and later advancing to the role of Community Manager. Additionally, Thompson has gained experience in management as a Student Supervisor for Michigan State Recreational Sports and Fitness Services from 2016 to 2020.
