Gerard Wilkinson is an experienced professional in the field of computing and software engineering, currently serving as Director at Think Active Labs since March 2019, where Gerald developed a custom energy expenditure algorithm utilized by over 1000 patients through an NHS supplier. Concurrently, as Lead Software Engineer at Ignite Insurance Systems, Gerard leads the implementation of innovative insurance customer portals and has contributed to Open Source projects. Previous roles include Research Intern at Microsoft, where research focused on live streaming applications, and Research Associate at Newcastle University's Open Lab. Gerard's early career included a placement as a Consultant at Waterstons, working with Microsoft technologies. Gerard holds a PhD and a BSc Hons in Computing Science from Newcastle University.
