Barrett Hightower has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Beginning in 2003, they worked as a Research Analyst at the Corporate Council on Africa, where they developed issue briefs and market-specific publications. From 2006 to 2007, they worked as a Consultant at CARANA Corporation and as an Analyst at QED Consulting, LLC. Barrett then served as a Senior Trade Specialist at Sandler & Travis Trade Advisory Services from 2007 to 2009. In 2010, Barrett became the Corporate Trade Compliance Manager at BSI's Supply Chain Solutions. Barrett later started their own business, Salt, as the Owner from 2013 to 2017. From 2011 to 2015, they worked as an Independent Consultant and pursued an MSc degree. Following that, they served as a Trade Compliance Consultant at Barrett Hightower LLC from 2017 to 2020. Currently, Barrett is the Director of Food Safety, Quality, and Regulatory Compliance at International Gourmet Foods, a role they have held since 2020.
Barrett Hightower obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from Dartmouth College, where they studied from 1997 to 2001. Barrett later pursued a Master of Science degree in Poverty Reduction Policy and Practice: Food and Agriculture Policy from the University of London from 2012 to 2015.
