Zoia Okulova

Co-founder & President Of Igem Club At Northeastern University at iGEM

Zoia Okulova is currently serving as an In-vivo Immunology Quantitative Biosciences Co-op at Merck since July 2024. As a Co-Founder and President of the iGEM Club at Northeastern University since August 2022, Zoia has led a team in preparing for the iGEM Competition, focusing on engineering bacteria to produce aromatic compounds for composting in urban areas. Previously, Zoia worked as a Preclinical Team Co-op at Affini-T Therapeutics from July to December 2023, supporting cell therapy pipelines and utilizing software tools for research. An undergraduate research assistant at Northeastern University's College of Engineering from November 2021 to June 2023, Zoia contributed to brain stimulation studies and cell interactions in the airway, while also serving as Vice Chair of the DEIB Committee. Additionally, Zoia managed a team at Enabling Engineering from September 2022 to May 2023, overseeing prototype development for clients. Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Cell and Tissue Engineering at Northeastern University, Zoia's academic journey began at Felsted School from September 2019 to June 2021.
