Bailey Daymo is a skilled research intern at CinderBio since June 2024, with extensive experience in various roles within the scientific community. As a Project Leader for iGEM since September 2022, Bailey directs a team focused on developing solutions against antifungals through experimental design and presentations. Contributions include serving as a Wetlab Team Member, engineering L. Lactis to combat penicillium fungus in soft cheeses. As a Corporate Committee Member for the American Chemical Society, Bailey facilitates networking and employment opportunities for UC Berkeley students. Prior research experience at UC Berkeley’s Wenjun Zhang Group involved studying the biosynthesis of natural products, while prior work at Arizona State University centered on synthetic biology for ethanolamine production in E. coli. Earlier internship experience at Tonkomo, LLC included developing hydroponic grow kits and using AutoCAD Inventor for component design. Bailey is pursuing a BS in Chemical Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, expected to graduate in 2025.
