Jesús A. Villegas-Ruiz is a Senior Associate at Baker McKenzie since July 2022, focusing on regulatory clearance for complex transactions and internal investigations, as well as corporate governance and tax law. Additionally, Jesús serves as a Professor of Law at UCAB and Universidad Monteávila, teaching Compliance Programs and Corporate Compliance, respectively. Jesús has extensive legal experience, previously holding positions as Legal & Compliance Counsel and Legal Executive at British American Tobacco, where guidance was provided on corporate and tax law matters, and regulatory compliance. Earlier roles include Associate at Tinoco, Travieso, Planchart & Nuñez and paralegal positions at Baker & McKenzie and MHOV Abogados. Jesús holds multiple advanced degrees in law and business from prestigious institutions, including a Master of Comparative Laws from the University of Pennsylvania and a Doctor of Juridical Science from Universidad Central de Venezuela.
