Kevin Cahill

Director Of Composite Technology & Applicaiton Engineering at IDI Composites International

Kevin Cahill has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Kevin started their career at World Kitchen, LLC as a Design Drafter, where they were responsible for completing design drawings, designing die fixtures, and collaborating on new product development. Kevin later worked at Fujitsu as a Buyer/Engineer, where they purchased mechanical car audio components and restructured purchasing processes. At Serigraph, they served as a Sales Engineer.

In 1996, Kevin joined Engineered Cooling Systems, Inc. as an Application Engineer, developing software programs and leading injection-molded design projects. Kevin later became the Manager of Engineering R&D, leading the development and validation of sheet metal and injection-molded products and designing automotive electronics.

In 2004, Kevin joined Horton, Inc. as a Product Engineering Manager, overseeing a team of engineers and managing advanced product development and testing. Kevin also built custom data acquisition systems and utilized 3D printers for rapid prototyping. Kevin was later promoted to Principal Engineer, leading advanced research, test, and market analysis for the company.

Since 2016, Kevin has been working at IDI Composites International. Kevin initially served as an Application Engineering Manager and was later promoted to Director of Composite Technology & Application Engineering. In this role, they directed new composite material development and coordinated global product development. Kevin worked closely with multi-disciplinary teams to drive product launch and achieve customer targets.

Throughout their career, Kevin has gained expertise in composite technology, automotive engineering, product development, software development, and project management.

Kevin Cahill graduated from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in 1993 with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering. Kevin also holds additional certifications in Project Management: Technical Projects from LinkedIn (to be obtained in 2023) and a Strategic Management and Innovation Specialization from Coursera Course Certificates (obtained in 2016).
