Melody Scales has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. They began their career as a Finance Director and Special Advisor for the Dan Blue US Senate Campaign in 2002, where they successfully overhauled the fundraising strategy. Melody then joined the Wellington City Council as a Senior Events Manager, where they coordinated events and built strong relationships with stakeholders. They later joined LUMEDIUM as a Project and Event Manager, leading a multinational team and managing contracts. Melody then transitioned to IFAC, starting as an Executive Assistant and eventually taking on roles such as Associate, Project Management and Grants Manager. In these positions, they managed operations, led projects, and oversaw a multi-million-dollar donor grant. Most recently, Melody joined ideas42 as the Director of Finance and Accounting in September 2022.
Melody Scales began their education journey in 1991 at Wake Forest University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Melody completed their studies in 1995. In 2017, Melody attended NYU School of Professional Studies and obtained an Advanced Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation. Melody furthered their education in 2018 at Borough of Manhattan Community College, where they completed an Accounting Certificate Program with a specialization in Accounting and Finance. This educational background showcases Melody's diverse interests and their commitment to continuous learning.
