Arnold Ponela is a seasoned research analyst with extensive experience in economic research and education. Currently serving as a Senior Research Analyst at IDC since May 2018, Arnold conducts comprehensive research on market and industry trends in South Africa and the Sub-Saharan region, while also monitoring macroeconomic conditions across developing economies in Africa. Previously, Arnold contributed to MANCOSA as a part-time lecturer and trainer from January 2014 to December 2020, focusing on Economics, Business Maths, and Business Statistics, while providing academic support and training to corporates. Earlier roles include serving as a Research Analyst at NelPro Consulting, a Tutor and Oppidan Sub-Warden at Rhodes University, and a Data Analyst Intern at Absa. Arnold holds a Master of Commerce in Economics from the University of South Africa and both a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) and a Bachelor of Economics from Rhodes University.
