Karisa Ribeiro serves as the IDB Group Regional Public Private Sector Coordinator for the Southern Cone and is also the Transport Lead Specialist at IDB Invest, with a career at the Bank since 2012. Prior experience includes roles such as Director of Projects at EGL Engenharia, where management of large-scale infrastructure projects and economic viability studies took place. Karisa also held the position of Transport Manager for the Prefeitura do Rio de Janeiro, managing operational plans for the 2014 FIFA World Cup and 2016 Olympics infrastructure projects, and was the Director of Infrastructure Projects for the Christchurch City Council, focusing on urban development strategies and transport performance evaluations. A former Project Manager at Montgomery Watson Harza, Karisa specialized in sustainable transport and led various research initiatives. Academic qualifications include a PhD and a Master's degree from 名古屋工業大学, alongside a degree in Civil Engineering from PUC Minas, and further education at Harvard Business School.
