Paul von Bünau is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in machine learning, AI, and risk management across various sectors. Currently serving as the Managing Director at idalab GmbH since January 2016, and as an Independent Expert Evaluator for the European Commission since September 2014, Paul has contributed to computational biology and life sciences. Previous roles include consultancy at RDRS Bangladesh focusing on microfinance risk management and impact studies, an analyst position at Deutsche Bank handling credit risk quantification, and research assistant roles at both Fraunhofer FIRST and the University of Potsdam. Paul holds a Ph.D. in Machine Learning from Technische Universität Berlin, an M.Sc. in Pure Mathematics from the University of St Andrews, and a B.Sc. in Computer Science with minors in Mathematics and Physics from the University of Potsdam.
