John Fitzgerald has extensive work experience in the engineering field. John is currently working as a Senior Product Reliability Engineer at ICON since 2022. Prior to that, they worked at SpaceX from 2016 to 2022, holding various roles including Senior Mechanical Engineer in the Starlink Gateway Engineering team and Test Equipment Reliability Engineer II. At SpaceX, John was responsible for project management, process improvements, root cause failure analysis, and the development of spare parts and maintenance strategies.
Before joining SpaceX, John worked at TOTE Inc. as a 3rd Assistant Engineer in 2015 and 2016. John also gained experience at Seadrill Careers as an Assistant Subsea Engineer, Mechanical Technician, and 2nd Assistant Engineer from 2011 to 2014. In these roles, they performed troubleshooting, training, maintenance, and operation of various systems and equipment.
John's career began as an Engine Cadet Observer at Shell in 2009.
John Fitzgerald completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Marine Engineering Technology from Texas A&M University Galveston Campus from 2007 to 2010. Additionally, they obtained a Certificate of Attendance and Participation from Cryogenic Industries in March 2018.
