Paul Sallaberry

Operating Partner, Sales at Icon Ventures

Paul Sallaberry joined Icon Ventures in 2009 as an Operating Partner of Sales, having served in sales and field services roles in highly-regarded technology companies for nearly 30 years. With exceptional experience in worldwide sales, marketing and services, Paul has had a major impact on companies from start-ups to multi-billion dollar organizations. His ability to help early-stage companies grow from modest levels of revenue to tremendous scale is best-in-class. Paul is in great demand by the CEOs of our portfolio.

Before joining Icon, Paul’s most recent senior operating role was with Veritas Software through its acquisition of OpenVision Technologies. Paul was responsible for growing Veritas from less than $50 million in sales to more than $1.5 billion, achieving its profit goals and building a global multi-tier sales distribution and professional services powerhouse. In addition, he led the seamless integration of Veritas’ acquisition of Seagate, growing Veritas’ worldwide sales team from an employee base of 200 to over 2,200.

At OpenVision, Paul was the Senior VP of Sales where he led the organization’s product and professional services revenue growth. Prior to OpenVision, he held a series of positions at Oracle Corporation, including VP of Oracle’s Vertical Sales Division.

Paul is on the Board of Acquia, Calypso Technologies, Coho Data, Moovweb and Zephyr Health and is an advisor to Liquid Robotics, PernixData and Pure Storage (PSTG). Prior Icon Boards include Mimosa Systems (Iron Mountain) and Ocarina Networks (Dell). Paul receives very high marks as an active, hands-on director who works very effectively with the senior management team.

Paul holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Davis and serves on the U.C. Davis Foundation Board of Trustees and the Dean’s Advisory Council for the Graduate School of Management. He is also a member of the Sacred Heart Schools Board of Trustees. Paul is a frequent speaker at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
