Matthew Baldwin has a diverse work experience in the animation and creative industry. Matthew started their career in 2003 as a Lighting TD and Mr. Fix It at Bardel Entertainment. Matthew then worked at Bardel as a TD Environment Lighting, where they focused on problem-solving, environmental lighting, rendering, modeling and texturing. While there, they also collaborated with programmers to streamline the pipeline.
Matthew then moved on to North West Imaging & FX as a Senior CG Generalist, where they worked on corporate commercial projects, and mentored junior artists. Matthew later joined Image Engine Design Inc. as a PostVis Technical Animator, and Rainmaker as a Senior Modeling Texture/Surfacing Artist. Matthew gained experience in Nuke Compositing at Zoic Studios, before joining Apex Geomatics as a Surveyor, Draftsman, and Laser Scanning Technician. At Apex Geomatics, Matthew conducted field survey layouts, generated as-built reports, and designed road and well pad expansions.
Joining ICON Creative in 2014, Matthew started as a CG Generalist before becoming the Head of CG in 2015. As the Head of CG, they oversee multiple productions and ensures quality and workflows align with the studio standard while staying on schedule. Matthew also works on CFX setups, primarily for fur and hair.

Matthew Baldwin attended the Art Institute from 2001 to 2003, where they pursued a degree in 3D Animation. During their time at the Art Institute, Matthew focused on studying 2D and 3D animation, composition, and special effects. Prior to this, from 1998 to 1999, Matthew enrolled in the 2D Animation Program at Vancouver Film School, where they specialized in 2D animation.
