Penelope Kourkouli is a highly skilled professional with extensive experience in remote sensing and geoinformatics. Currently serving as the Wildfire Insights Product Manager at ICEYE since September 2018, Penelope has also held roles as a Senior Remote Sensing Engineer and a Remote Sensing and GIS expert. Previously, Penelope was a Postdoc at ETH Zurich in the Department of Earth Sciences - Engineering Geology from September 2017 to July 2018 and worked as a Project Scientist at GAMMA Remote Sensing Research and Consulting from September 2011 to December 2016. Earlier experience includes serving as a Research Scientist and Lab Assistant at Harokopio University of Athens from 2007 to 2010, and completing a student internship at the Institute of Environmental Research and Sustainable Development (IERSD) in 2006-2007. Penelope holds a PhD in Geography from the University of Leicester, an MSc in Geoinformatics from the National and Technical University of Athens, and a Bachelor's degree in Geography from Harokopio University of Athens. Research interests encompass Earth observation applications and SAR Interferometric techniques for ground deformation monitoring.
