Nick Cordell is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in regulatory counsel and compliance within the financial services sector. Currently serving as Senior Counsel for Index at ICE since December 2022, Cordell provides regulatory guidance on data products, negotiates complex agreements, and engages with regulators and industry associations. Prior to ICE, Cordell held the position of Vice President and Corporate Counsel at BlackRock, where responsibilities included supporting the launch of exchange-traded funds and drafting regulatory disclosures. Additional experience includes serving as Senior Counsel at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, where Cordell advised on investment laws, received a Director’s award, and represented the SEC in international regulatory discussions. Earlier roles included Counsel at the Mutual Fund Directors Forum and Legal and Compliance Analyst at The Carlyle Group. Nick Cordell obtained a J.D. cum laude from Chicago-Kent College of Law and a BA in Political Science and French from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
