Gerhard Schleining has extensive experience in the field of food science and technology, currently serving as an Authorized Trainer at Quality Austria and the European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group (EHEDG), both since June 2012. As Chairman of EHEDG AUSTRIA since February 2016 and a member of the Global Harmonization Initiative's Board of Directors since January 2007, Gerhard is actively involved in promoting industry standards. Additionally, Gerhard holds presidential roles at the ICC - International Association for Cereal Science and Technology and the South East Asian Academy for Beverage Technology, with responsibilities focused on fostering collaboration between academia and the beverage sector. Gerhard has previously served as Secretary General of the ISEKI-Food Association and held an academic position as an Assistant Professor at BOKU - University until March 2020. Gerhard earned a Doctorate in Food Science and Biotechnology from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna.
