Ilona Herbst has a diverse work experience, starting with their current position as Vice President and Head of Equity & Equity Compensation in Corporate Finance at iCapital Network since 2017. In this role, they are responsible for executing the firm-wide equity compensation strategy, implementing equity changes in capitalization and financial statements, and applying industry standards in day-to-day operations.
Before joining iCapital Network, they founded their own company, Tiny Lily, in 2013 and served as its Founder until 2017. Prior to that, they worked as a Marketing Consultant at Sebastien Grey Clothiers for a brief period in 2017.
Their earlier work experience includes roles as a Commodity Analyst at Dorset Management from 2011-2013 and as a Business Development professional at Outpoint Capital from 2010-2011. Ilona also worked as a Senior Investment Analyst at Starr & Company, LLC from 2007-2010, where they oversaw portfolio reporting and contributed to investment committee's decision-making.
Ilona began their career as an Analyst at Bloomberg LP and Merrill Lynch, and also had summer analyst positions at Merrill Lynch and Regions Bank.
Ilona Herbst holds a Master's degree in Finance, General from Harvard University. Prior to that, they earned a B.Sc. in Applied Economics and Management from Cornell University. Ilona also completed coursework in Retail Management at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Additionally, they obtained the Equity Compensation Associate (ECA) certification from the Santa Clara University Leavey School of Business in June 2023.
