Ashok has more than 30 years of experience managing technical projects related to building inspections and plan reviews, quality control, and training. He has broad experience in program administration and development of policies and strategies for complex projects involving many levels of governments. Ashok has extensive experience in municipal government and built environment management. He oversees the operation of IBTS – including its subsidiaries – with a staff of over 300 personnel located in various states.
Ashok became CEO of IBTS in 2002 and is responsible for overall policies, planning, and supervision of the IBTS management team. He provides leadership and direction to the staff in order to meet client needs and also works directly with clients to understand their needs and priorities. He provides advice in developing corporate strategy, outreach, and project management on contracts administration, staff performance, and conflict resolution issues. He also provides management support to HUD’s National Manufactured Housing Program contract and other key contracts.
From 1976 to 2001, Ashok was the director of contract services at IBTS’s predecessor organization, NCSBCS (National Conference of States on Building Codes and Standards). He was responsible for all government contracts administration and supervision of task and project managers. He provided guidance on technical, administrative, and legal matters. He has facilitated resolution of disputes over technical and regulatory matters, conveyed policy concepts, and interpreted government goals and decisions to staff and industry.
Ashok holds an MBA from Southeastern University, Washington, D.C., and a B.S. and M.S. in civil engineering from Punjab Engineering College.
