Priyanka (Ria) Soni has had a varied career, starting in 2007 when they were a Research Assistant (Night Imager) at Kay Lab. In 2008, they were a Student Research Assistant at Schulteis Lab and a Biology TA at the University of California, San Diego. In 2010, they were a Research Assistant at Afraxis, Inc. and a Summer Intern at Pasona NA, Inc. In 2011, they were an Emergency Department Scribe at Loma Linda University Medical Center. From 2012 to 2018, they were a Doctoral Student at The University of Tokyo. In 2018, they became a Freelance Consultant and VP of Clinical Products at I Peace, Inc., a Palo Alto-based startup developing proprietary technologies to enable iPSC-based regenerative medicine, drug discovery, and personalized medicine by dramatically scaling up clinical grade iPSC generation.

Priyanka (Ria) Soni has a diverse educational background. Priyanka (Ria) received their Bachelor's of Science in General Biology from UC San Diego between 2006 and 2010. Soni then went on to earn their Master's degree in Agriculture and Life Science from The University of Tokyo between 2012 and 2014. Finally, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Virology from The University of Tokyo in 2018.
