Ankith Ullal is currently serving as a Propulsion System Simulation Engineer at Hyundai Kia America Technical Center, Inc. since July 2022. Prior to this role, Ankith was a Graduate Research Assistant at Michigan Technological University from August 2017 to May 2022, focusing on adaptive mesh refinement in OpenFOAM/KIVA for oil droplet combustion simulations. Ankith also gained experience as a Summer Research Intern at National Chiao Tung University, working on gas turbine blade cooling experiments. Earlier, Ankith held leadership as President of the International Club at Michigan Technological University and contributed to research on pyrolysis reactor simulations. Ankith's internships included projects on heating systems for biodiesel applications, in-plant studies of petroleum refining processes, and manufacturing processes for metro rail cars. Ankith completed a PhD and an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University, along with a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka.
