Laura DeWitt, M.D., MBA, CHCQM has a long and distinguished career in the medical field. Laura began their career in 1991 with an internship in Internal Medicine at CHRIST HOSPITAL. From 1992 to 1994, they completed Anesthesiology Residencies at The George Washington University Hospital and Children's National Health System. In 1995, they completed a Regional Anesthesia Fellowship at Virginia Mason Medical Center. From 1996 to 2007, they were a Partner and Managing Board of Directors at ANESTHESIA ASSOCIATES LTD., where they also served as Quality Director and Anesthesiologist. During this time, they provided direct patient care and comprehensive anesthesiology services to INOVA Alexandria Hospital. From 2007 to 2018, they were an Attending / Staff Anesthesiologist at The George Washington University Hospital and an Attending Anesthesiologist at INOVA Alexandria Hospital with Fair Oaks Anesthesia Associates and North American Partners in Anesthesia (NAPA). In 2019, they became the Regional VP Anesthesia Services for Hyr Medical, Inc. Currently, they are an Anesthesiologist with Rainier Anesthesia Associates, providing services to three hospitals and six free-standing surgery centers in Pierce and King Counties, WA state.
Laura DeWitt, M.D., MBA, CHCQM has an extensive education history. Laura obtained their Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from The University of Toledo in 1987, followed by their Doctor of Medicine from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1991. In 1996, they obtained their Diplomate from the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Anesthesiology. In 2016, they earned their Physicians Executive MBA from Auburn University in Business Administration and Management, General. In 2018, they obtained their Certified in Health Care Quality Management (CHCQM) from the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians. Laura also has additional certifications, including a Certificate in Business Administration (CBA) from the American Society of Anesthesiologists, Washington, D.C., Ken Blanchard on Servant Leadership from LinkedIn, Six Sigma Green Belt Certification; Operational Excellence Through Supply Chain and Quality Management from Auburn University, Medical License from the State of Washington, Health Care Quality and Management from the American Board of Quality Assurance & Utilization Review Physicians, ACLS Certified, BLS Certified, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) License in good standing, and PALS Certified.
