Carrie Villines has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Starting in 2001, they worked as a photographer for their own business, Carrie Villines Photography. Carrie then worked as a front-end developer/designer for Louise Blouin Media/ARTINFO.com from 2008 to 2011. From 2011 to 2013, they worked as a front-end developer for Weight Watchers, Promotions.com, and HelloWorld, Inc. In 2016, they worked as a front-end software engineer for Hillary for America. From 2018 to 2019, they worked as a front-end developer for Groundbase. From 2019 to 2021, they worked as a senior software engineer and then lead user interface engineer for Pico. In their roles, they have developed a variety of websites and products, written product specs, conducted design code reviews, and advocated for UI design and accessibility best practices.
Carrie Villines received their BA in English from the University of California, Los Angeles between 1991 and 1996. Carrie then went on to receive a Certificate in Photography from Santa Monica College between 2001 and 2003. Finally, they earned their MFA in Photography and Related Technology from Parsons School of Design - The New School between 2005 and 2007.
