Nikolay Vasilev

Team Lead, Solutions Engineering | Global Pre-Sales at Hygraph (previously GraphCMS)

Nikolay Vasilev's work experience includes various roles in different companies. Nikolay started their career as a Software Engineer at Telerik (now Progress), where they were responsible for developing and maintaining UI components for NativeScript on iOS and Android. Nikolay also worked on the company's WPF and Silverlight product line, developing and maintaining major UI components and frameworks.

After that, Nikolay co-founded SourceWeave, where they took on multiple responsibilities such as day-to-day operations, client contact and negotiations, financials, research and development for client projects, product management, team management, and recruitment and interviewing processes.

Nikolay then joined MobiSystems, leading the team responsible for the UI of OfficeSuite for Windows. MobiSystems is a provider of mobile productivity and business applications.

Nikolay later joined Progress again as a Senior Solutions Engineer, providing technical expertise during the pre-sales process and preparing demos for potential customers. Nikolay also participated in the development of detailed Proof of Concepts tailored to customer specifications and spoke at public sessions about Progress products and software principles.

Currently, Nikolay works at Hygraph as a Team Lead in Solutions Engineering and Global Pre-Sales. Nikolay has been instrumental in driving global business expansion through collaboration with the Commercial and Product teams. Their role involves every aspect of the sales cycle for enterprise opportunities, from initial discovery to onboarding. During their tenure, the company has achieved significant revenue growth and secured series B funding.

Nikolay Vasilev began their education in 2004 at Foreign Language School "E. Josif" Razgrad. Nikolay studied there until 2009 and did not attain a degree or specialization during this time. In 2009, they enrolled in Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski and pursued a Bachelor of Informatics, but did not finish the program as their education ended in 2013. In 2010, Nikolay attended Telerik Academy and completed the Software Development track. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications including "Demo2Win!" from 2Win! in December 2020, "70-483: Programming in C#" from Microsoft in July 2014, "MCTS 70-513: Windows Communication Foundation Development with Microsoft .NET Framework 4" from Microsoft in October 2012, "MCTS 70-516: Accessing Data with Microsoft .NET Framework 4" from Microsoft in March 2012, and "Diplôme d'études en langue française, DELF B1" from Centre international d'études pédagogiques CIEP in April 2008.
