Tarah Cronin (Mayes) is currently a Laboratory Technician II at EBMUD since January 2023 and has been a Research Scientist in Aquaculture at Hygieia Biol since August 2020. In the role at Hygieia Biol, Tarah plans and conducts research on aquaculture vaccines, supervises technicians and interns, designs recirculating aquaculture systems, and ensures alignment between research plans and project goals. Prior experience includes serving as the Spirulina Cultivation Lead at Greenspring Farms, where Tarah managed culture health and harvesting operations, and as a Fisheries Biologist with Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission, leading tagging operations for salmon and steelhead. Earlier roles involved support functions at FishWise and marine conservation efforts with Olazul. Tarah holds a Master of Science in Sustainable Aquaculture from the University of Stirling and a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
