Rachel Johnson

Head Of Communications And Stakeholder Relations at Hydro-Electric Corporation

Rachel Johnson has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Rachel is currently working at Hydro Tasmania as the Head of Communications and Stakeholder Relations. Prior to this role, they served as the Tasmanian Lead - Major Energy Projects for the Minister for Primary Water and Industries, Minister for Energy, Minister for Veteran’s Affairs.

Rachel has also held positions at Volunteering Tasmania, where they served as the Board Chair from 2015 to 2018, and as a Board Director from 2014 to 2015.

Before their time at Volunteering Tasmania, Rachel worked at Hydro Tasmania in various roles, including Stakeholder Manager - Battery of the Nation, Government Relations Manager, Program Leader for Strategy and Policy Analysis, Program Leader for Policy and Regulatory Analysis, and as a Regulatory Affairs Analyst.

Rachel began their career at the Department of Treasury and Finance as a Senior Business Analyst before moving on to work as an Economist at Forestry Tasmania. Rachel also served as a Research Officer at the Department of Treasury & Finance in the Budget Branch.

Rachel Johnson's education history includes a Diploma from the Australian Institute of Company Directors, obtained in 2010. Rachel also holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Tasmania, which they completed between 1993 and 1998. In addition, Rachel pursued a Masters of Regulatory Economics at The Australian National University, although specific dates for this degree are not provided.
