Zuwei Ma is a Principal Scientist at Hyalex Orthopaedics Inc. since September 2019, focusing on the process development of chemical manufacturing procedures for artificial cartilage tissue and conducting studies on chemical manufacturing controls. Previous experience includes roles as a Senior Scientist at Anika Therapeutics, where development of hyaluronic acid-based orthopedic devices took place, and NeoGraft Technologies, where small diameter vascular grafts were developed using advanced materials and techniques. Zuwei Ma's earlier positions involved research in biodegradable polymers for cardiovascular regenerative medicine at the University of Pittsburgh and the synthesis of hydrogels at UMass Medical School and the National University of Singapore. Zuwei Ma holds a PhD in Polymer Chemistry from Zhejiang University and has degrees in Material Science and Polymer Science from Qingdao University of Science and Technology.
