Mayra Rodriguez Beltran began their work experience in 2008 as a Research Assistant at the Rochester Institute of Technology & Center for Public Safety Initiative, where they conducted research on health services for Hispanic youth victims of community violence. In 2010, they joined Huther Doyle as a Physician Assistant, providing primary care and addiction medicine services. Mayra also served as the Suboxone clinic coordinator and Program Director for Huther Doyle's Opiate Overdose Prevention Program. In 2014, they began working at Anthony L. Jordan Health Corporation as a Physician Assistant in Internal Medicine, and then moved to Rochester Regional Health as a Physician Assistant in Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine. At Rochester Regional Health, they played a key role in developing the Integrated Medication For Addiction Treatment Program. In 2018, they became the Director of Medical Services at Huther Doyle.
