Matt Hickam is the managing principal at Husch Blackwell Strategies. Matt has over 25 years of experience in public affairs, public relations, and government affairs.

Hickam began their career as a legislative assistant in the office of US Senator Bob Dole. Matt then went on to work as the director of government affairs for the American Health Care Association. In 1998, they became the state long-term care ombudsman for the state of Kansas.

After a few years in the private sector, Hickam founded their own public affairs/public relations firm, Hickam Public Affairs, in 2011. The firm quickly grew to become one of the leading public affairs firms in Kansas. In 2016, Hickam merged their firm with Husch Blackwell Strategies, where they now serves as managing principal.

Matt Hickam works with Micki Hackenberger - Managing Principal, Jay Reichard - Managing Principal, and Rochelle Mallett - Managing Principal. Matt Hickam reports to Andy Blunt, COO/Executive Chariman.
