Akili Jamal Haynes serves as the Chair of Percussion & Popular Music at the Community Music Center of Boston, where responsibilities include maintaining and designing private percussion studios and popular music ensembles. In addition to this role, Akili contributes as Part-Time Percussion Faculty, providing private studio lessons. The experience also features a position as The Drummer in The Colored Museum with the Huntington Theatre Company and a long-standing commitment as Director of Music Ministry at Unity In The City, showcasing talents as a director, composer, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist. The foundation of Akili's career includes founding and directing World of Chibuzo and Chibuzo Nation, along with past experience as a guest musician at the Union United Methodist Church. Educationally, Akili is an alumnus of the New England Conservatory of Music, where significant roles included instructor of Brass/Improvisation ensembles and Woodwinds & Brass Program Director.
