Khalid Umar is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in various roles within the technology sector. Currently serving as a Senior Software Engineer at HungerStation since April 2022, Khalid is focused on Subscription and Martech domains while implementing event-driven and domain-driven designs to create new services from a monolithic architecture. Prior to this, Khalid worked as an Engineering Manager at Rafeeq, leading a team responsible for mobile applications and consumer services, and transitioning services to microservices and Kubernetes. Khalid's experience also includes serving as a Software Development Team Lead at Jumia Group, where responsibilities encompassed overseeing e-commerce projects and developing a generic checkout system. Additionally, Khalid held the position of Backend Development Team Lead at AWOK.com, delivering scalable solutions for high user capacity, and began a career as a Backend Developer at Mezino Technologies. Khalid holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Software Engineering from the University of Central Punjab, obtained in 2014.
