Andy Gillooly started their professional journey as a Student Placement at Indigo Photonics Ltd, working with the FBG team. Andy then pursued their PhD in Photonics at Aston University, during which Andy designed and developed FBG sensors. Following this, Andy worked as a Senior Development Engineer at SPI Lasers, developing pulsed fiber lasers. Andy later transitioned to Sharp Laboratories of Europe as a Senior Optical Engineer before joining Fibercore Limited as a Senior Sales Engineer and eventually moved to the position of Business Development Manager. Throughout their career, Andy has been instrumental in technology development, sales, and customer relations within the photonics industry.
