Gerry C. Johnson is an accomplished communications strategist and editor with extensive experience in advocacy and media. Currently serving as Editor and Senior Strategist at Human Rights Watch since June 2019, Gerry leads communications efforts focused on critical issues such as the 2020 elections, racial justice, immigration, and women's rights. Prior roles include overseeing communications strategy at the ACLU and serving as Communications Manager for the Clinton Foundation. Gerry has also contributed as a Producer and Communications Strategist at WNET New York Public Media and has held various writing and editorial positions, including at the Clinton Global Initiative and as an award-winning arts and culture journalist. Gerry's early career includes significant internships and contributions to publications, showcasing a commitment to cultural and social issues. Education was completed at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
