Jian Wu has worked in a variety of roles in the field of machine learning and computer vision. In 2018, they began working as a Principal Machine Learning Scientist and Senior Computer Vision Scientist at Human Longevity, Inc. Prior to that, they were a Postdoc Fellow at Washington University in St. Louis from 2016-2018. From 2004-2013, they were an Assistant Professor at Soochow University (CN). In 2013, they were a Visiting Scholar at the University of Central Arkansas, where they developed a novel invariant local descriptor called CGCI-SIFT.

Jian Wu attended East China University of Technology from 1997 to 2001, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. They then attended Soochow University (CN) from 2001 to 2004, where they earned a Master's degree in Medical Image Analysis, Computer-Aided Diagnosis. Finally, they attended Soochow University (CN) from 2007 to 2012, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Image & Video Understanding.
