Soomers Philippe has extensive experience in military operations and intelligence, currently serving as a G2 Plans staff officer at HQ Eurocorps since August 2019. Previously, Soomers held a position in the G5 Branch, focusing on European Union and NATO-related studies and partnerships with higher education institutions in Strasbourg. Prior to joining HQ Eurocorps, Soomers worked at Belgian Defence from September 2013 to August 2015, where responsibilities included overseeing land operations and military partnerships. Earlier roles at Belgian Defence from 2007 to 2013 involved leading an ISTAR instruction cell and serving as the executive officer for an ISTAR battalion. Soomers Philippe holds a Master's degree in Social and Military Sciences from the Royal Military Academy in Brussels, obtained between 1985 and 1989.
