Trace Steffen has a wealth of experience in the world of knowledge management and startups. In 2014, they cofounded HowFactory, a knowledge management system, and served as its CEO. In 2021, they became a mentor for the TechStars Iowa Accelerator, introducing teams to the world on Demo Day. In 2017, they cofounded Red Cedar, a public-private partnership made up of entrepreneurs, private businesses, colleges, cities and economic development partners, and served as its Director of Programming. In 2010, they founded Kyoger, a company specializing in helping organizations manage and create effective digital content. Finally, from 2007 to 2010, they worked at the University of Northern Iowa as a Professional & Scientific, commercializing the VirtualPaint Training System at the Iowa Waste Reduction Center.
Trace Steffen attended Missouri State University, where they studied Secondary Education and Teaching. Trace also holds two certifications - Scrum Master Certified (SMC) from Scrum.org, obtained in April 2017, and Certified Product Owner, obtained in January 2015.
