Joaquim Pintão has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Joaquim started their career in 1997 at Hovione PharmaScience S.A. as a Production Manager, where they worked until 2003. In 2005, they joined Roche Pharmaceuticals Ireland as a Chemical Engineer and stayed there for eight years. In 2013, they joined Hovione again, but this time as the Head of New Product Introduction.

Joaquim Pintão completed their education in the following order:

- 1991-1996: Joaquim earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico.

- 1996: Joaquim participated in the Erasmus Program at Université de Technologie de Compiègne, where they studied Enzymatic Technology for a brief period.

- 2004-2005: Later, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration at IESE/AESE.
