Patricia Ortiz is a reporter at Houston Public Media since August 2022, focusing on general assignments with reporting beats in animals, transportation, education, and entertainment. Previously, Patricia served as a news intern, where skills in strong writing for digital and broadcast, audio production, photojournalism, and multimedia production were developed. Prior experience includes working as a barista at Cougar Grounds, a teaching assistant at Fort Worth ISD, and a teaching fellow for Breakthrough Collaborative, where instructional strategies and curriculum updates were implemented, resulting in notable student growth. Patricia holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Houston and an Associate of Arts in Multi-/Interdisciplinary Studies from Tarrant County College.
