John Dorfler has extensive work experience in various roles and companies. John began their career in 1971 as a Senior Accountant at Peat Marwick. In 1974, they joined Dorwart, Andrew, and Co as an Accounting Supervisor. John then worked as the General Manager at TR Davis, Inc from 1977 to 1983. From 1983 to 2003, they served as the President of Gooding, Simpson, and Mackes, Inc. Finally, in 2004, they became the Senior Vice President at Houck Services, Inc.

John Dorfler attended Elizabethtown College from 1966 to 1970, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. John also received the certification of Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in 1973.
