Gianluca Piras has extensive work experience in the hospitality industry. Gianluca is currently the Head of Strategic Accounts - Global at Hostelworld Group. Previously, they worked at Wind Mobility as a Business Expansion Manager - Italy, Area Operations Manager, and City Operations Manager Rome. Prior to that, they held positions at Outdoorsy as a Regional Business Development Manager Italy, RateHawk as a Senior Business Development Manager, Expedia Group as an Area Manager Kuala Lumpur, Area Manager Barcelona, Area Manager Rome Region, Area Manager Florence&Tuscany, Senior Market Manager Rome Market, Market Manager Sorrento, Amalfi Coast, Capri, Sardinia, Apulia, and Market Coordinator. Gianluca also worked as an Online Distribution Trainee at Best Western Italy and as a Night Manager at Hotel Bellerive.

Gianluca Piras has a diverse education history. Gianluca completed a Master's degree in Food and Beverage at Rome Business School from 2018 to 2020. Prior to that, they pursued a Master's degree in Economic of Tourism at Università Ca' Foscari Venezia from 2005 to 2006, specializing in Tourism and Economics. In 2004, Gianluca was an exchange student at Turku School of Economics at the University of Turku, where they studied Economics. Gianluca also holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Università del Salento, which they obtained from 1998 to 2004.
