María Isabel Martínez Segura is a Project Manager at Hospital Universitari Germans Trias i Pujol since April 2021 and serves as an Associate Lecturer at EUSES - Escola Universitària de la Salut i l'Esport, teaching "Digital Health and Innovation in Physiotherapy" as of September 2023. María co-founded BEFAST in November 2020, focusing on the development of a digital AI eye-assessment tool for early detection of posterior strokes. In early 2021, María participated as an IMAGINE IF Fellow! in an accelerator program for science ventures, and completed the D·Health Barcelona program in 2020, which emphasizes biodesign methodology. María holds a degree in Biomedical Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de València, a course in Java FullStack from EOI Business School, and additional studies in Biomedical Engineering from Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna.
