Miguel Pera is an Associate Professor of Surgery at Universitat de Barcelona and the Chair of the Department of General and Digestive Surgery at Hospital Clínic de Barcelona. In addition to these roles, Miguel serves as an Executive Committee Member for the European Society of Coloproctology and an Associate Editor for the Colorectal Disease Journal. Miguel is also a member of the editorial boards of The British Journal of Surgery and the Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery. As the Head of the Colorectal Cancer Research Group at Institut Hospital del Mar d'Investigacions Mèdiques and the Chief of the Section of Colon and Rectal Surgery at Hospital del Mar- Parc de Salut MAR, Miguel has demonstrated consistent leadership in colorectal surgical research. Miguel's previous academic positions include an Associate Professorship at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Educational qualifications include a Master in Management of Health Institutions and a PhD in Medicine from the University of Barcelona, along with a Medical Degree from the same institution.
