Genevieve Lapointe has a wealth of experience in the geospatial industry. Genevieve began their career in 2004 as a GIS Specialist for Positron Public Safety Systems, where they developed geospatial data validation tools in ESRI ArcObjects and Visual Basic, designed and developed geocoding algorithms for address parsing, and validated GIS data for 9-1-1 Public safety systems. In 2008, they moved to Knowledgeplex inc as a GIS Specialist. In 2010, they joined deCarta as a Map Designer. In 2015, they began working for TrakMaps as a GIS data manager and product manager, and also worked as a Map Designer for Uber. In 2016, they became the User Experience Director at Hortau. Additionally, in 2015, they owned Tuvaq Geomatik, where they managed accounts and projects, designed maps, conducted trainings, developed custom tools based on ArcObjects Technology (ESRI) in Visual Basic to automate the validation process for Positron's mapping product, converted and manipulated data to meet client products' structure requirements, validated GIS data for over 50 municipalities/U.S. Counties and 1 State, and developed a prototype for a travel mapping software based on Google Map technology, Java Script, PHP and MySQL.
Genevieve Lapointe began their educational journey in 1997 when they attended Université de Montréal until 2002. In 2009, they continued their education at the University of California, Berkeley, where they obtained a Certificate in Management and Information Systems in 2010.
