Andrew Markley, PhD has had a diverse career in the sciences. In 2005, they began their graduate studies at UCSD. In 2011, they joined the University of Wisconsin-Madison as a NSF SEES Postdoctoral Fellow and Postdoc, where they worked on genetically engineering a fast growing strain of photosynthetic bacteria for cost effective wastewater treatment and chemical production. In 2017, they co-founded Hoplark HopTea, a sparkling iced tea that is dry hopped like a craft beer. In 2021, they began their current role as Scientist II at Think Bioscience.
Andrew Markley received their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biochemistry from UC San Diego in 2011. Andrew obtained their B.S. in Chemistry from Carnegie Mellon University in 2005.
