John Wetter

Director Of Technology & Information Services at Hopkins Public Schools

John Wetter has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and industries. John started their career as a Technology Specialist at Buffalo-Hanover-Montrose Schools - ISD 877, providing technical support for the district office and Discovery Elementary School. John then moved on to St. Cloud State University as a Webmaster for the Department of Earth & Atmospheric Sciences, where they developed content and updated the department's website. Additionally, they served as the Coordinator of Skywarn Operations at NOAA, coordinating severe weather operations and forming partnerships with volunteer groups.

In 2005, John founded the Minnesota Severe Storms Conference and assumed the role of President. John established the organization's vision and direction. John also joined Spotter Network Inc. (NFP) as an Advisory Board Member, providing guidance on organizational direction and managing the review and realignment of reporting structures.

Since 2006, John has been associated with Hopkins Public Schools. John initially acted as a Technology Support Administrator before being promoted to Technical Services Manager. In this role, they managed technical decisions, coordinated projects, and supervised technical staff. Currently, they serve as the Interim Director of Technology & Information Services, responsible for overseeing technology and information services within the organization.

Throughout their career, John has demonstrated expertise in technology management, organizational leadership, and project coordination. John has successfully contributed to the growth and improvement of the institutions they have worked with.

John Wetter attended St. Cloud State University from 1997 to 2002, where they studied Meteorology and Political Science. John has additional certifications including Casper Certified Mobile Administrator and Certified Casper Administrator obtained in 2012, as well as ITILv3 Foundations and another Certified Casper Administrator certification obtained in 2009 and 2008 respectively.
