Engineering Manager of Developer Relations at Honeycomb

Jessica Kerr has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering and development. Jessica currently works as the Engineering Manager of Developer Relations at Honeycomb.io, where they started in August 2022. Prior to this, they were the Principal Developer Evangelist at Honeycomb.io from August 2021 to August 2022.

Before joining Honeycomb.io, Jessica worked as an independent contractor under Jessitron LLC starting in August 2019. Additionally, they served as a Member of the Technical Advisory Board for Skills Matter starting in January 2021.

Jessica'searlier experiences include working at Atomist as a Lead Engineer from January 2017 to December 2019. At Atomist, they played a pivotal role in creating development automation tools and promoting the concept at conferences and through blogs.

Jessica also has experience working at Stripe as an Engineer from October 2015 to January 2017, Monsanto as a Developer in IT Strategy & Architecture from April 2015 to October 2015, Outpace Systems, Inc. as a Developer from May 2014 to March 2015, and Monsanto as a Developer of a distributed spontaneous calculation engine from August 2012 to May 2014.

Furthermore, they worked at a Stealth-mode Startup as a Developer from December 2011 to August 2012, where they were part of a small team that developed a consumer site. Prior to that, they were employed at Daugherty Business Solutions as a Consultant from May 2010 to December 2011, where they worked on various projects for clients such as Monsanto, Express Scripts, and Savvis.

Throughout their career, Jessica has acquired expertise in various programming languages and technologies, including Scala, Java, Clojure, Akka, Couch, and AWS. Jessica has also demonstrated a passion for teaching and inspiring other developers through their participation in conferences and blog posts.

Jessica Kerr attended Missouri University of Science and Technology from 1995 to 1999. During this time, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics, with minors in Computer Science, Math, and Economics.
