Janéa Jackson

Janéa Jackson, AICP has extensive work experience in the field of urban planning and community development. Janéa is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of HomeRise (formerly Community Housing Partnership) since June 2023. Prior to this, they worked as the Director of Asset Management at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development from September 2018 to June 2023, overseeing a diverse portfolio of affordable housing properties across multiple regions.

Before joining HUD, Janéa held positions of increasing responsibility. Janéa served as the Portfolio Branch Chief at GSA from August 2016 to August 2018, where they directed strategic real estate portfolio management and led several process improvement initiatives. Previously, they worked as a Community Planner at Marine Forces Pacific and Naval Facilities Engineering Command, where they provided expert advice on military construction and planning projects.

Janéa's work experience also includes roles at DPRI Program Office, MCAS Iwakuni, MCAGCC Twentynine Palms, AECOM (formerly EDAW Inc), and GROUP 70 INTERNATIONAL, INC. Janéa has a proven track record of successfully managing complex projects and collaborating with diverse stakeholders to address land use and community planning issues.

Janéa Jackson, AICP holds a Master's degree in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Janéa also has a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Sociology from the University of Pennsylvania. Furthermore, they have obtained several certifications including Certified Planner from the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) in 2010 and Accredited LEED Building, Design and Construction Professional (LEED BD+C) from the U.S. Green Building Council in 2008. Janéa also holds additional certifications in areas such as facilities engineering, knowledge management, Lean Six Sigma, commercial real estate, and paralegal work.
