Monica Laporte currently serves as a Project Manager at Holtec International, focusing on dry spent fuel storage projects within the International Site Services division. Prior experience includes a role as a Deputy Reactor Training Assistant with the US Navy, where significant responsibilities involved leading reactor plant casualty response drills and tracking qualifications for personnel. Monica also held various positions in the Navy, such as Propulsion Plant Watch Officer and Reactor Electrical Division Officer, showcasing expertise in nuclear reactor operations, maintenance, and training. Monica graduated with honors from a Nuclear Power Training Unit and ranked third in class at the Naval Nuclear Power Training Command. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from the University of Southern California and ongoing pursuit of a Master's degree in Radiation Health Physics at Oregon State University. Previous roles outside of the military include positions in IT, coaching gymnastics, and retail sales.
