Tobias Rüesch has a diverse and extensive work experience. Tobias is currently the Co-Founder of Holocene, a company they joined in October 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Hitachi Zosen Inova from 2019 to 2022, where they held the positions of Lead Process Engineer and Process Engineer.
From 2011 to 2017, Tobias worked at Climeworks, where they held various roles, including Co-Department Head, R&D, and Product Development Engineer. In these roles, they were responsible for leading a team of engineers, coordinating and leading the R&D department, and managing all development projects. Tobias also had overall responsibility for product development, regulatory conformity, and processes within construction/design and electrical design. Additionally, they played a crucial role in procuring and introducing a PLM system and supported the sales team and management with cost calculations.
Tobias started their career at ETH Zürich in 2009, where they worked as an Assistant at the Department of Electrical Engineering and the Laboratory for Energy Conversion. Tobias also had an industrial internship at MAN Diesel & Turbo in 2010.
Tobias Rüesch completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering at ETH Zürich from 2006 to 2009. Tobias then went on to pursue their Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering at the same institution from 2009 to 2011.
