Allison Walters has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Allison started their career as a Cashier Customer Service at National Amusements from 2000 to 2005. Allison then worked as an ABO Certified Optician at Walmart from 2006 to 2010, where they performed various tasks such as pretesting patients, verifying insurance benefits, and managing insurance charge-backs. Following that, they served as a Manager, ABO Certified Optician, and Frame and Inventory Manager at McDonald Optical from 2010 to 2018. During this time, they gained experience in managing staff and inventory, as well as fitting and adjusting eyewear. From 2018 to 2023, Allison transitioned to the healthcare industry, joining the University of Iowa Health Care. Here, they held roles such as Revenue Cycle Representative specializing in Prior Authorization and Revenue Cycle Coordinator for HMO/VA Managed Care patients. In these positions, they excelled at obtaining authorizations, communicating effectively between clinics and physicians, and mentoring colleagues. Finally, Allison joined Holmes Murphy in 2023 as an Account Manager, where they continue to contribute their expertise in client management.
Allison Walters began their education journey at Scott Community College from 2002 to 2004, where they obtained an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Psychology. Allison then continued their studies at the University of Iowa from 2005 to 2007, graduating with a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in Psychology. Following this, Allison attended Kirkwood Community College from 2007 to 2009, specializing in Pre-Optometry. Additionally, they obtained a certification in ABO (American Board of Opticinary) from The American Board of Opticinary in November 2007.
